Several villages plundered near Kun Yu, in Namhoi district.

Village of Wei Ch'ung, in P'an Yu district, plundered and
sight buffaloes carried off.

Ten junks fired on at Feng Ting, P'an Yu district, by pirates
on river banks. Soldiers on board reurned their fire, but the
pirates were too strong, and captured the junks.

On January 20 six or seven armed men "held up" the Sincere
Company's store on the Bund, at about 7 p.m., and made off
with about $1,600 1,700.

Junk fired on at Feng T'an, P'an Yu district, but pirates
repulsed by soldiers on board, with a loss of three of their
number and one passenger.

Huang Liang Tu, near Heungshan, plundered by brigands.

Battle at Huang Chieh, near Heungshan, between troops and
bandits; troops lost three killed and several wounded, but
defeated bandits.
(Chung Kuo Pao, January 31.)
Pawnshop at Tseng Shing attacked by bandits and one salesman
killed.
Pa Kang Hsu, near Samshui, plundered on January 1, and sixty
buffaloes carried off. The brigands were armed with smokeless
powder rifles.
